Broward Health Medical Center is a 716-bed, state-of-the-art Level I Trauma Center and Ft. Lauderdale's largest healthcare facility.
Broward Health is seeking a Program Director to provide day to day oversight, leadership and compliance with all of the Internal Medicine Residency program ACGME requirements including quality, curriculum, educational effectiveness, clinical rotations, evaluations of residents and faculty, goals and objectives of the program. This position reports directly to the Designated Institutional Officer (DIO) and supervises the residents and medical students rotations.
Broward Health has five accredited core programs: Dermatology, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery and Pediatrics. We sponsor a one-year Transitional Year with advanced fellowships in Cardiology, Geriatrics, Hospital and Palliative Medicine. we have Residents in Oral Maxillofacial Surgery, General Pharmacy and Pharmacy Informatics. We host medical students for core third year rotations from the University of Miami's Miller School of Medicine, the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine at Florida International University, and Nova Southeastern College of Osteopathic Medicine as well as fourth year students from across the nation as they complete fourth year electives and interview for residency programs.
Education/Certification/Registration: Graduate from accredited MD or DO Medical School. Completion of an ACGME acceptable Internal Medicine residency program. Board Certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Experience: Specialty expertise and documented educational and administrative experience, at least 5 years of participation as an active faculty member in an ACGME accredited IM program and least 3 years of Graduate Medical administrative experience.
Licensure: Unrestricted license to practice in the State of Florida
Special Training: The program director must attend the annual ACOI Congress on Medicine Education for Resident Trainers every year and per condition of the AOA accreditation.
