The Research Coordinator – Speech Pathology at Nationwide Children’s Hospital acts as the Director of Speech Pathology Research within the Speech Pathology Department and also as a facilitator of research collaboration with partner universities, medical centers and other strategic organizations. They would be tasked with independently driving research within their own designated area of research and clinical expertise, facilitating and implementing clinical best practices within their area of expertise and mentoring clinicians in research and evidence-based clinical activities throughout the department. The Research Coordinator – Speech Pathology should have a clinical and research area of expertise in at least one of the strategic service lines of the care provided at Nationwide Children’s including, but not limited, to autism spectrum disorders, AAC, visual impairment, hearing impairment, profound communication disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, infant speech-language development or early intervention, feeding/dysphagia or dyslexia. A successful candidate would have interest in developing a line of research within their area of expertise, by establishing research studies as well as providing clinical care as a part of interdisciplinary teams. The candidate would also serve as a mentor and facilitator for departmental research, and guide clinicians on various projects and presentations as needed. This is an excellent role for an experienced clinician-researcher in the field of speech-language pathology who thrives in a team-oriented environment. Additional qualifications include a history of peer-reviewed publications, history of previous grant submissions and/or funding, experience with IRB submissions, a strong track record of presentations at the state and national level, evidence of service to the field and/or leadership experience and history of student or CFY supervision and/or familiarity with supervision guidelines. Candidate must hold their ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence and a PhD in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field.
