Bridges Health Partners (“Bridges”), is a newly formed collective of four regional health systems located in western Pennsylvania (Butler Health System, Excela Health, St. Clair Hospital Corporation, and Washington Health System), which has formed and jointly invested in the creation of three inter-related entities: a clinically integrated network “CIN”, a subsidiary Medicare accountable care organization “ACO”, and a population health services organization “PHSO”. Bridges Health Partners is dedicated to supporting physician-led care teams across its four partner health systems to provide high quality, low cost care to target populations of patients.
The Bridges Health Partners network comprises seven hospital campuses with over 1,450 licensed beds, over 1,000 employed and affiliated physicians with a network of primary care and specialty group practices, ambulatory surgery centers, urgent care clinics, imaging and diagnostic centers, skilled nursing, home health and hospice care. Bridges Health Partners serves patients through a broad geography of outpatient, community-based and inpatients sites in the following Western Pennsylvania counties: Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Clarion, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Lawrence, Mercer, Venango, Washington and Westmoreland.
The Bridges Health Partners LLC (CIN) has been established to operate as the membership entity for participating providers, groups, and hospitals. The Medicare ACO LLC will be a subsidiary of the CIN and will hold the Medicare Shared Savings Program contract with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). All other payer contracts will be held through the CIN. The CIN and Medicare ACO will contract directly with the PHSO to manage the common staffing, quality programs, technology, and infrastructure that enables the organizations to successfully operate.
Board-certified M.D. or DO with at least seven years of clinical experience.
A minimum of five years of progressive experience in pay-for-performance, shared savings, or value-based managed care/capitated contract arrangements.
Continuous quality improvement experience in clinical process design.
Knowledge and experience in information technology systems used in population health across the continuum would be ideal.
Demonstrated ability to lead complex change management efforts, inclusive of bringing several distinct organizations and cultures together to achieve a common purpose.
Demonstrated experience in progressive leadership roles with responsibility for developing and implementing quality programs, care pathways, clinical guidelines, and best practices.
Demonstrated experience engaging and supporting clinical providers in quality and efficiency measurement, practice transformation, and performance improvement activities.
Familiarity with insurance product design and payer contracting.
Strong physician leadership, team building, and communications skills.
Strong written and oral presentation skills.
Possession of, or eligibility for, a medical license in Pennsylvania.
Demonstrates high integrity and professionalism at all time.

This individual will be responsible for maintaining and building relationships across the network and orienting participating providers to Clinical Integration (CI) concepts and processes. The Medical Director will routinely interact with other members of the Bridges CIN/ACO/PHSO leadership team, Board committees, and provider network, including physician leaders at all four of the founding member organizations. The Medical Director will support the network through the significant organizational changes that will be required to build a population health management infrastructure and culture. This role also is involved in the strategic planning and growth of the CIN/ACO business.
