Hennepin Healthcare has retained Witt/Kieffer to assist in the recruitment of their Chief of Radiology. Hennepin Healthcare seeks a strategic and collaborative physician executive to serve in this critical leadership role. Hennepin Healthcare is an integrated system of care that includes Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC), a nationally recognized Level I Adult Trauma Center and Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and acute care hospital, as well as a clinic system with primary care clinics located in Minneapolis and across Hennepin County. Hennepin Healthcare has a large psychiatric program, home care and hospice, and operates a research institute, innovation center and philanthropic foundation. HCMC is a comprehensive academic/teaching medical center and public hospital, operating 484 acute care beds. With 7,300 employees and physicians, Hennepin Healthcare is a recognized leader in superb health care delivery generating over $2.3 billion in annual net revenue. The system is operated by Hennepin Healthcare System, Inc., (HHS) a subsidiary corporation of Hennepin County. The Department of Radiology at Hennepin Healthcare has transformed into the premiere destination for radiological services in the Twin Cities and region. The Department is affiliated with the University of Minnesota (U of M) Medical School and the U of M Department of Radiology, as one of the primary teaching sites for the U of M Medical School. The Chief reports directly to the Chief of Provider Services, and is responsible for the strategic development of the department’s clinical programs and for the leadership and professional development of the department’s faculty and staff. He/She serves as the academic leader of the department, and is responsible for ensuring the recruitment and retention of faculty to achieve Hennepin Healthcare’s mission. He/She will establish and continue to enhance the department’s education experience for residents, fellows and medical students from the University of Minnesota and other affiliated institutions. The Chief will also continue to advance the department’s participation in mission-relevant research. Candidates must hold an M.D., M.D. /Ph.D., or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school, be board certified in radiology, eligible for licensure in the State of Minnesota, and hold or be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Minnesota. Ideally, the candidate will have a minimum of five years administrative experience at the institution, department or section/division level, with demonstrated management skills. The successful candidate will be an innovative and creative thinker who is able to recruit faculty, establish clinical programs while enhancing current programs, and who will inspire faculty, residents, students, and hospital and community leaders.
