EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, GOODWIN HOUSE FOUNDATION
Goodwin House Incorporated (GHI), a nationally recognized, faith-based, nonprofit, growing system of communities and services for seniors, is seeking a dynamic leader to serve as the Executive Director of the Goodwin House Foundation (GHF). Our mission is to support, honor and uplift the lives of older adults and the people who care for them through a faith-based, nonprofit organization affiliated with the Episcopal Church The Executive Director (ED) is responsible for achieving the strategic priorities set forth by GHI and attaining GHF’s annual financial goals through activities, which include: annual giving, major gifts, special events, capital campaigns, grant writing, planned giving, and growth and management of GHF’s Charitable Gift Annuities program. The ED reports to the CEO of GHI, and is the chief liaison with the GHF Board. The successful candidate must possess corporate level leadership, management, fund development and governance management skills. The GHF Executive Director is an integral member of the senior executive strategic leadership, leads a staff of three, and works collaboratively with members of the staff to ensure GHF’s activities meet the strategic goals and mission of GHI. Requirements: The ideal candidate will enjoy interacting with older adults on a daily basis and be sensitive to the changes that come with advancing age. The ideal candidate will have at least 15 successful years of senior level leadership and management experience, at least 10 years of progressively successful fundraising experience, and a minimum of 5 years of demonstrated success in planned giving. Candidate must possess the ability to think strategically; strong writing and oral skills; the ability to build and nurture relationships with prospects and donors; write grant proposals; make small and large group presentations; and develop and manage budgets and financial goals. The ED also has supervisory function for Foundation staff and offices. A Bachelor’s degree and extensive level of senior leadership and management is required. CFRE or CAE certifications are preferred. Prior experience with Raisers Edge or other fundraising data bases is required. Knowledge of PG Calc or other planned giving software is preferred.
