Phoenix Children’s Hospital, which has grown to become one of the largest children’s hospitals in the country with 433 licensed beds, is recruiting a progressive and passionate physician leader to serve as the Division Chief of Pulmonology.
A nationally recognized hospital by U.S. News & World Report, Phoenix Children’s Hospital continues to expand, adding new physicians, staff, programs and facilities to meet the needs of the growing community and greater region. With a Medical Staff of nearly 1,000 pediatric specialists, Phoenix Children’s Hospital provides the most comprehensive pediatric care available in the state. Phoenix Children’s Hospital was also recognizing by Becker’s Hospital Review for the fourth year in a row as a “150 Top Places to Work in Healthcare.” Phoenix Children’s Hospital is the only hospital in Arizona to be named to the list.
The Chief of Pulmonology is integral to advancing Phoenix Children’s Hospital’s strategic vision and mission to the Phoenix community and throughout the greater southwest region. The Division Chief will build the pulmonology expertise of the hospital and care delivery network, develop and enhance patient care programs, and provide strategic leadership in continuing to advance pediatric pulmonology as an integrated program of subspecialties. Notable programs are Phoenix Children’s Pediatric Comprehensive Sleep Medicine Program, the first accredited Cystic Fibrosis Center in the state of Arizona, the only comprehensive inpatient and outpatient Tracheotomy and Airway Program in the state, and a comprehensive asthma program that includes a mobile asthma clinic to connect services and treatment with the pediatric community. The division is also currently home to the allergy/immunology program.
Successful candidates will have a demonstrated track record in advancing pediatric pulmonology clinical care, education and research in a highly regarded pediatric organization. The responsibilities of this position include clinical care, administration, program and referral development and faculty recruitment initiatives. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other professionals to advance clinical programs and research are required. The position requires current Board Certification in pediatric pulmonology. Candidates must be able to obtain an Arizona medical license.
