We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Nurse Manager to join our dynamic, quality-focused perinatal care team at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center. In this position, you will have the overall responsibility for a high risk 13 bed LDR unit and a 32 bed antepartum/postpartum/gyn unit, Approximately 1700 births occur at this hospital each year.
The Nurse Manager serves as the accountable department manager for Women's Services: Family Birth/Labor and Delivery at Emanuel Medical Center. She/he has responsibility for all daily operational activities including departmental planning related to staffing, scheduling, and budget, ensuring appropriate systems and processes for the efficient delivery of care, and ensuring safe/high quality care and an outstanding experience for patients and their families. This leadership role assumes 24 hours a day, seven days a week responsibility for all department functions. The manager is responsible for maintaining effective inter-professional communication and a positive work environment that supports and embraces the principles of shared governance. The manager is also responsible for ensuring that staff are educated and competent to care for the patients under their care. The manager routinely collaborates; works effectively with physicians, peers and other Legacy leadership to meet the strategic objectives of Legacy. ?
Key Candidate Criteria:
Experience in high risk obstetrics
Exceptional skills in team-building, communication, and accomplishing planned change within a family-centered care philosophy.
Experience in the use of electronic documentation systems in a birth setting
Has the ability to consistently model positive and progressive communication with staff, physicians and patients

Education: Academic degree (BSN or MSN/MN) required. Master’s degree required; MSN/MN preferred. Internal or external candidates may be considered with verification of a master’s degree in progress.?
Experience: Two years of leadership practice experience required. Demonstrated growth in leadership responsibilities and breadth desired. Previous clinical experience specific to Women's Services: Family Birth/Labor and Delivery is highly desirable.
Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure for applicable state. Specialty specific certification highly desirable.
Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of clinical operations, including staffing and scheduling, budget management, workflow planning, staff development, quality, safety and patient experience management. Excellent communication (verbal and written) and leadership skills, and a willingness to lead by example. Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions are essential.
