Poydras Home is seeking an innovative, dynamic individual, committed to the care of seniors to serve as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the organization. This individual will report to the Board of Directors and will be responsible for leading the organization to achieve the strategic vision and direction for the future. The CEO will need to possess strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, business and financial acumen and the ability to serve as a leader representing Poydras Home in New Orleans and the senior care industry. He/she must align with the mission and values of Poydras Home with a demonstrated commitment to senior care.
From its beginning, in 1817 with the generous donation of property from Julien Poydras, as an orphanage, to its current direction of caring for the elderly in 1958, Poydras Home has been a leader in health care in the greater New Orleans region for over 200 years. Now moving into its third century, guided by the steady judgement and leadership of an all women Board, Poydras Home is well known as a premier, not-for-profit healthcare provider for seniors and their families, providing personalized care and innovative programming in an intimate and compassionate community. Chief Executive Officer Role Summary
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will serve as the senior leader of Poydras Home, reporting to the Board of Trustees. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing the strategic direction as set forth by the Board, supervising the executive team of the organization and having a strong presence and reputation in the community as an expert thought leader in senior care. In order to achieve these objectives, it is important that this person be a strategic thinker focused on the future possibilities for Poydras Home, someone who leads by influence to promote the desired internal culture for patients, families and employees and a strong advocate for the organization externally through community involvement creating development opportunities and telling the Poydras Home story.

Leading the Organization
Represent Poydras Home in New Orleans and the senior care industry
Lead the Executive Team and staff, ensuring implementation of the strategic plan and a great environment in which to work
Prepare monthly reports to the Board members and meet with committee chairs as needed
Make recommendations to the Board of Trustees regarding the needs of residents and families, facilities, etc.
Partner with the VP of Finance to ensure the efficient and effective financial management of Poydras Home
Make annual budget projections to the Board of Trustees
Ensure annual audits are conducted and that recommendations by auditors are implemented
Build and maintain strong relationships with residents and families
Guide organization in alignment with current/future trends in the senior care industry
Guarantee a safe and comfortable environment for seniors and their families
Remain on-call in case of an emergency. In the case of a hurricane or emergency situation, is expected to be part of the Disaster Team and may be required to shelter in place or evacuate with staff and residents to the designated evacuation locations
Support department supervisors in establishing sound policies, procedures and guidelines
Maintain state standards for employee health requirements
Remain informed regarding the latest developments in senior care
Periodically review compliance according to internal and external regulations and legal requirements

Qualifications and Experience:
Work Experience Required
7+ years of demonstrated outcome-oriented experience in a senior leadership role with a demonstrated passion for senior care
Alignment with values and mission based on previous experience
Demonstrate strategic business orientation, with an understanding of the future direction of senior care delivery and the ability to motivate and engage others in a common vision in response to such changes
