A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona (ATSU-SOMA) invites applications to apply for the full-time OPP/OMM Assistant Professor position.
The full-time OPP/OMM Assistant Professor will be a neuromuscloskeletal medicine (NMM) board certified or board eligible physician is sought as a 1.0 FTE for the OPP/OMM Department at A.T. Still University (SOMA). The physician must be able to provide high quality osteopathic manipulative medicine in a ATSU based OMM Center as a 0.8 FTE. The remaining 0.2 FTE will be divided between osteopathic education of medical students in the OPP/OMM classroom and coverage for other NMM physicians in the OMM Center during vacation, conferences, or illness.
Treat patients and teach shadowing students in the ATSU OMM Center at a 0.8 FTE. Provide coverage for other NMM physicians in the OMM Center as needed for vacation or illness. Lecture and provide table training during OPP class. Interact with OMM fellows and help promote and supervise educational and research activities. Participate in scholarly activities, committees, and service activities as deemed appropriate by the OPP faculty chair. Collaborate with other physicians and basic science faculty on interdisciplinary educational endeavors.
Applicant must be a D.O. and be Neuromusculoskeletal medicine board eligible or board certified or equivalent in training and experience. Must understand the OPP/OMM exam methodologies and proper format of NBOME item writing. Must be able to meet appropriate deadlines for lectures, labs, and other assignments. Compassion, patience, and approach-ability. Clear speaking voice for lecturing. License to practice medicine in the state of Arizona. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Powerpoint.
