The University of Michigan, Division of General Medicine is seeking board certified/eligible internists to join our expanding Academic Primary Care faculty. Duties include providing direct patient care in an outpatient setting with teaching opportunities. There are also opportunities to engage in population management and quality/safety activities. Prior training or clinical experience at a major academic medical center is preferred. Excellent benefits and compensation package with guaranteed salary plus incentive bonuses. Relocation support provided as well as a $25,000 signing bonus, with an additional $25,000 for chief medical residents.

With over 150 faculty members, General Medicine is the largest division within the Department of Internal Medicine. Every member of the General Medicine team strongly supports the mission of Michigan Medicine, delivering excellence in patient care, performing innovative research, and providing up-to-date and comprehensive education and training.
The Division of General Medicine provides general and preventive medicine for adults at the Taubman Health Center, VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System, and seven other clinics located in Ann Arbor, Brighton, Canton, Northville, and Saline. Treating patients in all aspects of their health including arthritis, asthma, diabetes, hypertension, gastroenterological diseases, infectious diseases, and heart disease, and also provided preventive care such as immunizations, health counseling, and sports physicals.
We have one of the most successful research programs of its kind in the country. Our physicians are recognized as leaders in their respective fields and were awarded over $10 million in federal, industry, and foundation grants in the 2017 fiscal year. Additionally, many of our faculty serve in key leadership roles ...or are researchers at Michigan Medicine’s Center for Health Communications Research, Institute for Healthcare Policy & Innovation, Center for Bioethics and Social Sciences in Medicine, Cancer Surveillance and Outcomes Research Team, and at the VA Center for Clinical Management Research.

The Division of General Medicine is committed to providing superior and comprehensive education and training to students, residents, and fellows, in the classroom and in our clinics. Our goal is to prepare all students to become outstanding physicians and leaders in their fields.
