Provides 24 hour accountability for patient care delivery in the Same Day Surgery / Endoscopy Departments. Ensures that quality age appropriate nursing care is delivered to all patients on his/her nursing unit in accordance with the philosophy, policies, procedures and program plans of the hospital. Assists with the development of patient care standards, orientation and continuing education. Evaluates staff performance in accordance with organizational policies. Develops, implements and maintains unit budget. Participates in nursing quality assurance. Maintains unit administration including scheduling and maintains of supplies and equipment. Uses and understands the principles of growth and development to assess each patient's age specific needs and provide age specific treatment and care.
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. BSN required, MSN preferred.
Current New Jersey R.N. license.
Minimum 3-5 years acute nursing experience with one year of nursing management experience in ambulatory / Same Day Surgery setting.
Maintains required BLS certification.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Organizational ability, nurse management and leadership skills. Demonstrated clinical expertise in area.
