The Mental Health Associate provides care to the patients in the Psychiatric Emergency Screening area and maintains a safe environment under the direct supervision of the registered nurse. All methods of practice shall conform to written hospital policies and procedures and be carried out to the highest achievable level of competence in a manner demonstrating concern and consideration. Transports patients to ancillary departments and emergency room as necessary. Completes personal hygiene for assigned patients. Assists with nutritional needs of patients, collects specimens and takes & records vital signs. - Baccalaureate degree in a related field or a minimum of five years mental health experience is required. - Minimum of one year experience, training or education in the field of treatment is preferred. - Must possess excellent communication, time management and interpersonal skills.
