Reporting to the COO, the VP Radiology Operations contributes to and seeks direction from the AHMG Systems Operations Council and advances the work and culture of Radiology to meet the broader mission, vision, and values of AdventHealth. The VP Radiology Operations is responsible for advancing Radiologyâ™s strategy and customer-centric mission by leading initiatives aimed at improving practice operations and financial performance while ensuring service excellence. The VP serves patients as a dyad to the Radiology Physician Leader, leading the development, activation, and monitoring of Radiologyâ™s operational strategy. He/she is responsible for overseeing Radiologyâ™s operations and service excellence standards. The VP sits on the Radiology Operations Council and plays a key role in making strategic, operational, and investment decisions for Radiology.
Principle Duties and Job Responsibilities:
Â·Works closely with the AHMG COO and Radiology Physician Leader to define the multi-year strategy and direction for the Radiology group
Â·Partners with the Radiology Physician Leader to execute and monitor Radiologyâ™s strategy
Â·Leads and oversees the development of Radiologyâ™s multi-year operational strategy and direction with attention to patient satisfaction, systems improvement, program development, fiscal management, compliance and clinical management measures, practice referral management, oversight & SLA adherence, productivity performance & monitoring, and work culture enhancement
Â·Oversees the clear and effective communication of important practice operations metrics and general updates to radiologists in all sections and locations
Â·Works on Radiologyâ™s business plan, annual budget, and capital investments with the Radiology Physician Leader and executes financial initiatives for Radiology
Â·Seeks compromises with local hospital leaders and Section Leads to ensure that, at an appropriate cost, local hospitalâ™s needs are met while simultaneously providing specialized services for all customers in a timely manner
Â·Collaborates with the Radiology Physician Leader to approve new physician and staff hiring and new hiresâ™ compensation
Â·Assesses Radiologyâ™s market position, including market share, growth trends, and financial performance relative to competitors and promotes service growth in conjunction with the Radiology Physician Leader and AHMG leaders
Â·Responsible for P&L of Radiology assets and operations in collaboration with the Radiology Physician Leader and AHMG leaders
Â·Sets Radiology practice operational performance targets, with an emphasis on those related to patient experience, including turnaround times, patient satisfaction, clinical throughput, patient acquisition and retention, and referrals and quality outcomes
Â·Empowers physicians and staff; partners with the Radiology Physician Leader in developing a culture of trust / transparency, positive development, and caring
Â·Serves as a member of the Section Lead Peer Group, designates representation for the Radiology POCs, and serves on or designates representatives for other key governing bodies, as requested
Â·Understands and monitors revenue cycle performance for the Radiology group.
Education, Experience, and Licensure:
Â·Bachelorâ™s degree in healthcare or business administration (masterâ™s degree preferred)
Â·A minimum of five (5) yearsâ™ experience in a senior management position (10 years preferred)
Â·Five (5) years in progressively responsible administrative position in a hospital-owned physician group preferred
Â·Experience as a hospital-owned physician group COO preferred
Â·Strategic planning experience
