Holtz Children's Hospital at Jackson Memorial Hospital is seeking a highly professional and dynamic, patient and quality focused nurse leader with academic medical center experience and expert collaboration skills to assume the role of Chief Nursing Officer/Chief Operating Officer. Part of Jackson Health System, a nonprofit academic medical system, Holtz Children's Hospital is one of the largest children’s hospitals in the southeast United States. Located at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center, they are known worldwide for their team of pediatric specialists experienced in treating children with all types of needs — from routine care to life-saving procedures.
The CNO/COO will establish and successfully implement a vision for nursing care, advance the professional practice of nursing, and passionately lead nursing in the pursuit of clinical and service excellence. The CNO/COO ensures highest levels and quality of patient/family centered care, outcomes, patient safety, operational efficiency, patient/family experience, associate engagement, and effective relationships with the medical staff. Additionally, the CNO/COO collaborates and works closely with organizational leadership and medical leadership throughout the Jackson Health System. She/he will model and hold others accountable to Jackson Health's Values and Standards of Behavior.
A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and a Master's Degree in a healthcare related discipline is required; Doctorate of Nursing Practice or Ph.D. is an asset but not required.
Current Nursing License in the State of Florida, or ability to obtain and/or maintain licensure upon hire.
Children's and/or women's hospital experience is highly preferred but other candidates will also be considered. Experience leading within an urban environment is highly desirable.
The preferred candidate will have a minimum of seven to ten years of current nursing leadership experience in progressive roles of increasing responsibility, experience in an academic hospital is strongly preferred.
