The Ohio State University College of Medicine invites applications and nominations of highly qualified faculty members for the position of Vice Dean for Faculty Affairs. The vice dean represents a key leadership role for all three mission areas of the College of Medicine to support the health and wellness of the faculty of the College of Medicine. The vice dean reports to the dean and serves as a member of the College of Medicine executive leadership team. Specific roles for the Vice Dean for Faculty Affairs include, but are not limited to:

Faculty candidates at the rank of professor in the tenure track from all disciplines and backgrounds (clinical, basic science) with a strong history of faculty mentoring, leadership and experience in academic affairs (faculty promotion and/or development) are encouraged to apply. This position will be a 50% to 75% appointment in the dean’s office with the balance of effort in the home academic department based on the candidate’s background and academic interests. The Ohio State University College of Medicine, founded in 1914, is known for curricular innovation, pioneering research and outstanding patient care. With more than 2,000 faculty members, the college comprises 19 clinical departments, seven basic science departments and the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. Approximately 900 residents and fellows participate in more than 60 accredited graduate and residency programs at Ohio State. Last year, the College of Medicine increased National Institutes of Health funding by more than 20% and experienced robust clinical growth. The Medical Alumni Society of Ohio State College of Medicine has one of the largest medical alumni networks in the world, with more than 15,000 graduates in all 50 states and more than 50 countries.
