This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Learn more Major duties include, but are not limited to: Incumbent performs routine and extensive or specialized psychological evaluation of Veterans. With psychodiagnostic evaluations, the incumbent independently conducts and documents clinical interviews. He/she is also familiar with a wide variety of psychological evaluation instruments to assess intellectual capacity, personality attributes/functioning aspects to be able to provide diagnostic information and recommendation for treatment and management. The incumbent will work closely with the Home Based Primary Care (HBPC) and Community Living Center (CLC) Interdisciplinary teams for coordination of Veteran care. The incumbent will provide consultation services to both HBPC and CLC teams as needed regarding the psychological care of Veterans involved in these programs. The incumbent is willing and able to see Veterans both in person and using telehealth, based on Veteran preference and ability. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining inventory of all telehealth equipment for devices assigned to the HBPC/CLC programs. The incumbent should possess knowledge of and ability to apply advanced professional psychological theories and techniques to the full range of patient populations. The incumbent will be responsible for efficient and appropriate documentation of all patient encounters in their medical chart. The incumbent will be responsible for facilitating assessment of suicide risk of Veterans in HBPC and CLC. The incumbent will be responsible for providing education to HBPC and CLC team members regarding requirements for risk assessment. The incumbent is knowledgeable about and willing to engage in Evidence Based therapies. The incumbent conducts group, and individual therapy. In providing these varied forms of psychotherapy, the psychologist utilizes high technical skills in appropriately recognizing and responding to nuances in verbal, motor, psychomotor, and psychophysiological manifestations of emotional conflicts which develop between individuals in such relationships.
