The incumbent will be responsible for independently conducting wide-range neuropsychological assessment of cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning of VAMC clients and provides consultation to the interdisciplinary treatment team. The incumbent provides a "specialized" clinical assessment of patients in which the primary focus involves the need to understand brain-behavior relationships and impact of brain injury or disease on the cognitive, sensorimotor, emotional and general adaptive capacities of the individual in which its application is primarily carried out in clinical settings for the purpose of diagnostic decision making, patient education and treatment planning along with additional duties Duties include: Independently conduct a wide-range neuropsychological assessment of cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning. Provide screening for cognitive deficits to address specific functional questions or to determine whether a complete neuropsychological evaluation or dementia assessment is needed. Perform capacity assessments when there are questions about a patient's ability to make medical decisions, perform other specific functions, or live independently. Independently provides psychological assessments, diagnostic evaluations, crises interventions, psychotherapy, and care management services. Develops treatment plans in collaboration with the veteran/family and with the interdisciplinary treatment team. Work Schedule: 08:00am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday. Some evening and weekend coverage may be required as a part of a shared department crisis response schedule.
