This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Learn more Provides a full range of integrated psychological care to Veterans with co-occurring PTSD and Substance Use Disorders, as well as other Veteran patients, including integrated screening, psycho-diagnostic assessment, individual and group psychotherapies, evidence-based integrated psychotherapies, and other services. Produces timely, appropriate documentation of care in accordance with agency policies.Provides evidence-based psychotherapies tailored to Veterans with PTSD and Substance Use Disorders and supports others in training and implementation of these therapies.Serves as facility subject matter expert in co-occurring trauma-related and mental health disorders. Consults with health care providers of all disciplines regarding care for patients with co-occurring disorders.Leads psychosocial and psychotherapeutic treatment planning for Veterans with co-occurring disorders. Guides, informs, and coordinates integrated care strategies throughout service for Veterans with co-occurring disorders. Collaborates closely on a daily basis with substance abuse counselors, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, primary care staff, and health care providers of other disciplines in support of patient care. Completes administrative activities in support of patient care, such as treatment planning and NEPEC PTSD status forms Develops and implements training on VHA best practices and clinical practice guidelines for Veterans with co-occurring trauma-related and addictive disorders. Serves as liaison between the PTSD program and specialty SUD services at the facility and others involved in integrated care. Assists PCT Program Coordinator in monitoring outcome and performance measures related to PTSD/Substance Use Disorder role. Interacts with VHA best-practice sites and VACO program offices to see that PTSD/SUD program provides high-quality clinical service, meets VHA access standards, and meets all other agency guidelines for clinical and administrative operations. Assists the Psychology Program Manager for Specialty Care with other administrative duties, as assigned. As faculty member and member of training committee for facility's APA-accredited clinical psychology internship. Provides training and clinical supervision to interns in the program. Contributes to meetings and faculty training associated with the internship. Serves as faculty member for regional psychiatry residency. As requested, provides training and consultation for psychiatry residents doing rotations in inpatient psychiatry. Seeks and maintains clinical appointment through residency-affiliated university. Provides training and clinical supervision to trainees in other mental health disciplines, medical students, nursing students, and trainees of other disciplines, as assigned.
