Tallent (WCT) Outpatient Mental Health Psychiatry Program Manager, overseeing the administrative and clinical aspects of psychiatric services. The incumbent has responsibility for coordinating treatment services as provided by psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and physician's assistants. This includes care provided in the community that periodically requires review and authorization. The incumbent plans, develops, implements, and evaluates the BHIP program to ensure continual quality improvement and excellence in customer service. The incumbent similarly oversees specialty psychiatric programs, including services in Primary Care Mental Health Integration (PCMHI), SUD services such as the buprenorphine clinic, and mental health injection services. In conjunction with the Chief of the WCT Mental Health Clinic, the CMO of the WCT Outpatient Clinic, the ACOS of Mental Health, and other members of the JHQ Mental Health Leadership Team (MHLT), the incumbent plans, organizes and directs psychiatric components of the administrative and operational activities of the WCT Outpatient Mental Health Clinic. Supervisory Duties The incumbent serves as clinical and administrative supervisor for employees in the Psychiatry Service at the WCT Outpatient Clinic, including psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and physician's assistants. The incumbent assumes responsibility for the management of the assigned employees, including ongoing leadership, evaluation, and appraisal functions. The incumbent is directly responsible for the success of all direct patient care and the support services provided by the Psychiatry employees of the assigned clinics, and the overall success of the MH Clinic Clinical duties The employee will provide treatment for beneficiaries with general psychiatric disorders in a variety of treatment settings, including telemental health. The employee must be skilled in Psychotherapy and Psychopharmacology. Must be able to provide a comprehensive clinical summary/psychiatric summary. The employee must collaborate with providers in all areas in the system to assist/coordinate discharge planning, medication, and follow-up appointments. The employee will ensure accreditation requirements are met for all applicable survey and inspection processes, to include, but not limited to, compliance with JCAHO, CARF, and OIG. The employee shall document patient care in the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS). Training regarding the use of CPRS along with all applicable expectations for content, timeliness and other standards will be provided by the VAMC. All documentation shall be completed in accordance with VA policy and procedures. The employee will be assigned to treatment teams and adhere to team meeting responsibilities. The employee will adhere to and support all quality management performance measures. The duties of the incumbent are highly complex and require in depth administrative knowledge, clinical expertise, and complex managerial skills in the independent management of clinical services. The incumbent provides interventions at a complex level of clinical care, utilizing a comprehensive range of clinical expertise and therapeutic modalities in the provision of treatment services to assist Veterans to reach their individual Recovery goals and their optimal level of independent function and health.
