This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. The psychologist applies advanced professional psychological diagnostic methods and intervention strategies to a full range of patient problems in the work setting. They have advanced knowledge of psychological evaluation, diagnosis, intervention, and related behavioral health services that qualifies them to provide advice and consultation to professionals representing a variety of disciplines. The primary functions of a staff psychologist at the full performance level include the provision of direct psychological patient care, consultation services on difficult or complex cases, and education and training of staff, interns, and other mental health providers in training. A degreed but unlicensed psychologist works under close supervision of a licensed psychologist in a full range of psychological evaluation and intervention activities. This psychologist applies professional psychological diagnostic methods and intervention strategies to a wide range of patient problems in the work setting; has strong knowledge of psychological evaluation, diagnosis, intervention, and related behavioral health services; and provides direct psychological patient care as well as consultation services and training to health care providers of other disciplines. The position is in the outpatient General Mental Health program of the Behavioral Health Service at the Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center where the incumbent may: - Contribute to training and supervision of clinical psychology interns. - Have responsibility for training and supervision of mental health providers in training in other disciplines. - Provide psychological services in other settings within the facility's health care system (APU, Primary Care, Community Living Center, tele-mental health clinic, etc.). Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Provides a full range of direct patient care to Veterans in outpatient behavioral health settings, including psycho-diagnostic evaluation, psychological assessment, individual and group psychotherapies, evidence-based psychotherapies, and other services. Produces timely, appropriate documentation of care in accordance with agency policies. Has knowledge of, and the ability to apply, advanced professional psychological theories and techniques to the full range of patient populations. Serves as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team for Veterans in outpatient BHS services, collaborating closely on a daily basis with psychiatrists, social workers, nurses, and providers of other disciplines. Creates and implements psychosocial and psychotherapeutic treatment plans for Veterans in outpatient settings. Provides psychological consultation to medical center staff of other disciplines regarding care of Veteran in outpatient behavioral health settings. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm.
